Ein „zehnfach interessantes Land“ – so beschrieb Goethe 1790 die schlesischen Landschaften. Der schönen Oderstadt Breslau/Wrocław wurde 2018 der Titel „European Best Destination” verliehen und Grünberg/Zielona Góra war einmal nördlichstes Weinbaugebiet Deutschlands. Das ehemalige Zisterzienserkloster Leubus/Lubiąż ist eine der größten barocken Klosteranlagen, während Brieg/Brzeg vor allem für sein prachtvolles Piastenschloss („schlesischer Wawel“) bekannt ist.
